Welcome to Ben Lomond Snow Sports - the place to experience a unique fun filled day in the snow at Tasmania's only vehicle accessible alpine resort. We are one of the most relaxed family friendly resorts in Australia with good prices.

Nestled in the heart of the Ben Lomond National Park in northern Tasmania we are a leisurely 70 minute drive from Launceston. The village stands at 1,453 metres and is the highest visit able area in Tasmania. On the very scenic drive from Launceston you pass through rain forest and up to the mountain plateau. On a clear day from the top of Jacob's Ladder you can see as far as Flinders Island.

In 2011 the first of the planned snow making equipment for the area was installed and this will give more certainty to the snow reliability. Please check out our web cam for current snow and mountain conditions. The runs in the area are serviced by 7 lifts either t-bars or pommas and the runs are mainly beginner/ intermediate.

We are located right at the base of the tows and can offer a complete snow experience in one stop. We have hire packages for skiing or boarding that include a lesson and lift combination if required, and any package deal can be arranged for your particular needs. We hire out ski and snowboard equipment, clothing from size 2 to 4xl, helmets, walking in the snow boots and of course for the speed demons there are toboggans, a good way to have fun on the snow!! This season we have introduced some snow shoes that can be used in other areas of the national park for just going for a leisurely walk on the snow at your own pace.

We have a retail outlet selling the necessities for a warm day in the snow, including beanies, gloves, socks, goggles, sunnies and other basics. Also there is a cosy cafe to rest, relax and replenish those tired muscles! Transport from the bottom of Jacob's Ladder can be arranged by calling us on the mountain (bearing in mind that our phones do not work unless the generator is running), so please be patient. Opening Hours

We are open Monday to Sunday 9.00am to 4.30pm as and when the lifts are operating and occasional weekends when there is sufficient snow for tobogganning.
